Roscoe Robert Muse Jr., 73, of Providence, RI, passed away on 6 January 2024 from heart complications.
Roscoe R. Muse Jr. was born in Providence, RI to Roscoe R. Muse Sr. and Elizabeth Jones on 12 October 1950. He graduated in 1970 from Central High School, where he was inducted into the Central High School Alumni Association Providence Athletic Hall of Fame for the 1968-69 Boys Class A State Championship Basketball Team. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Songina Muse, for over 45 years before her passing in 2016. He was a faithful and committed man dedicated to his family and friends who stood strong on his principles of treating people with respect and expecting the same in return. People will always remember him as the life of the party, and is humorously known for bringing either his signature drink or portable Bluetooth speaker to all the family events.
His children Corey Muse, Erik Muse and Alycia Rogers, his sister April Andrews and grandchildren Sienna Muse, Sanaa Muse, Jade Rogers, Jordyn Rogers, J. Jackson Rogers, Caleb Muse, Jacob Muse and Asaiah Muse, survive Roscoe Muse. His wife, Songina Muse and brother Jimmy Jones precede him in death.
Funeral service will be held at Keefe Funeral Home on Friday, 12 January 2024. Public visitation and viewing will begin at 4:00pm with the Celebration of Life Service beginning at 6:00pm. The repast will be at the Providence Firefighter’s Hall following the funeral service located at 92 Printery St. from 7:00pm -12:00midnight on 12 January 2024.
